It a 10 minuter again!!!

Last time I could not take part in the Pretty Pink Posh-10 minute craft dash as I didnt have the colours in the colour palette they provided but am happy that this time am in !!! yayayaya....

My card took me 9mins 42 secs to be precise....have a look...

I took DCWV printed cards which had the required color palette ....cut a brustro to size and distressed it with yellow ink....and stamped the swirl in green....then stamped the mask image on a separate brustro and fussy cut it...(the cutting  and distressing chewed up my maximum time)....popped it up with on a dimensional ...added a self adhesive fabric tape and a little self adhesive bling...and stamped a sentiment!!!

Like the last time I loved the process of this speedy card and was so happy with the outcome....this card is for a friend who plans to have a mask party.....(need to replicate this in bulk...phew!!!)

A closer look!

This ten minute craft dash has inspired me to make a lot of cards in the recent times...and its been all fun projects which I shall share one by one....Thanks Pretty Pink Posh !!!

Coffee....I smell coffee all around me

I am a total coffee person....coffee for stress, coffee to relax, coffee to freak out, coffee for...hmmm actually I dont need a reason!!! The fact that a few friends are meeting up is reason big enough for me to travel to the nearest CCD (Cafe Coffee Day) outlet....and I decided to pay a tribute to this so very important part of my life....and more importantly to all my coffee loving friends.....

So I did a CD Mini based on "Coffee".....:) have a look....

The Cover Page.....

The coffee mugs are stamped on brustro watercoloring paper and colored with Tombow Markers....

I made 3 of these ...exactly the same except the cover page...sharing the cover pages below.....sorry for the bad photography...they are mobile clicks during the exhibition...I really did not find any time for proper photography....but still have a look..

Its Greenery to the core!!!

Yeah ....I won the Incy Wincy Designs...Make a Bookmark Challenge!!! yayayayya.....super excited!!! And am taking part in their next challenge...Incy Wincy Designs-MONOCHROMATIC GREEN ...This was my first attempt at Monochromatic Cards...take a look...

I have tried my level best to use only and only Green...but just could not. The first layer is a pre-cut printed DCWV card collection. The second layer of plain green has frost and golden shimmer mist sprayed over it just to give it a little character and definition....the third layer has Label 1 die cut on a Echo Park PP from the "For the Record" Collection...and the fourth layer is a MS punch cut out on Echo Park "For the Record" Collection from a friend...sorry :( I forgot from whom I got it...
The fifth layer with that rose and "Happy Birthday" sentiment....is a handmade embellishment...as in I took a Kraft CS and diagonally wrapped a Japanese old newspaper, stuck two green roses, tied a bow with Raffia  and stuck the sentiment over it and there it was...all ready to match the theme!!!

I love .love ..love using washi tapes ...so have added two lines of that too....along with some green bling ....Hope you like it!!!

Peacefull- Its a Word Challenge after all!!!

I just joined the Creative Card Challenge group on the Facebook and though I missed out on the last challenge by a few days ....I did participate in their current word challenge....and all of us are to make a card with the word .."peaceful" ...our interpretation of the word through our creation!!! Wow isnt it???

I really thought and thought and thought.....what gives me peace? -Coffee? Reading? Music? Crafting? and finally after a lot of dilly dally I realised that it was " a cloudy weather (with or without a little drizzle) and a drive through the country roads with some close friends if possible...that made me "peaceful".....so here is my creation!!!

Its a simple card....with stamped images ...and coloring done with Tombow and Bic It Markers...

Another angle....Hope you like it....do leave your comments!!!

Mixed Media....Canvass Art

I have been fascinated by Mixed Media for quiet some time now and have read and read and read on the same so much that I just had to try it out....but yess ...I didnt have most of the essentials materials like gesso, alcohol inks, sprays and mists etc.....what I had was Mod Podge and an idea!!!

I refused to let go of the idea so I did a simple canvass art.....have a look...

I had a wedding theme in my mind ...but not a typical festive feel but one about companionship and homeliness .....
Its a 8X8 canvass that I have used.....and I thought having no base color brought out the colors in the elements better!!!

The flowers and the entire left side of the canvass is free hand drawing inspired from a sketch I saw in Pinterest...I love the site which gives me my daily dose of inspiration....and I have used all kinds of medium to color it...from fine tip pens to Tombow Markers to Staedtler watercolor pencils to some other local made watercolor pencils....and watercolors ...sparkle mist just to add a lil shimmer....phew!!! I just went crazy with it....:) the drawing was done on Brustro Watercolor paper...

The pink border is a SD die cut....and the house and the couple are stamped images colored with Tombow Markers...

For the tickets that you see popping out of the house ....on the flower...and behind the couple on the top....have been stamped on Brustro watercolor paper....but I first colored it with different watercolors and then misted it with golden and silver mists....before the stamping!!!

Have a closer look at the blooms....

The couple is stamped on Brustro ...but I darkened the image with a fine tip pen before cutting and sticking it...
This was my first attempt with doodling too!!!

All the cut outs are first stuck with Mod Podge and then two layers of Mod Podge layers have been brushed on top of it ...I realised that the paper was too thick and hence the edges were not smooth !!! Maybe some more layers of Mod Podge will have to be brushed to give it a smoother finish!!!

Hope you like it as much as I did.....but I really had fun creating this ....experimenting with different coloring mediums can really be exciting and crazy....

Do leave your comments and feedback....they encourage me....

Dress It Up....

Hi Folks....after an overdose of bookmarks, am sure this post shall act as a breath of fresh air....hehheheh...atleast I hope it does !!!

Today am showcasing one of my recycle projects that I recently did for a cousin....she handed me an old scribbled medical slip box ..that she wanted to glamourise to match her drawing room....the colors in her room were red, brown, orange and green with few shades of black here and there ....

Before...

After...

This is what I did to the poor old fellow.... just and just so that sir could fit in my cousin's drawing room and matched with her sofa sets and curtains and decor....

The big bloom and the punch flower border is also from Itsy Bitsy and has a self adhesive backing....I have used washi tapes on all corners and edges to give it a smooth finish ...

My cousin loved it....hope you too like it..:)

Keep your comments and feedback coming in .....I love it!!!

Reading Time.....Normal Bookmarks

Yeah I know...this is my fourth consecutive post on Bookmarks...Phew!!! but please have patience as all four where different from each other....today am posting normal bookmarks just plain simple ones...so please gear up and have a look...

Yesss there is a whole lot of them ....and with variety....I repeated one design that I have done in my magnetic bookmarks here..as I was in love with it.....but rest are new....heheh

Now for some individual shots.....

I have already described this in the magnetic bookmark...so a picture is more than enuff...

This is my fourth try at Vintage and again as u can see ...I have added a dull pink CS as a base as I cant make it too dull vintagy....but I guess I will try a full on vintage look for once ....

The images are stamped and a washi tape added on the side and down...

The house and tree images are stamped and cut....the clouds are felt die cuts and the sun is a paper punch out...
The felt cloud was first stuck on the sun and then mounted on a dimensional along with the house...the trees is plain stamped and cut and stuck to the base PP...I have used Tombow Markers to color the house and tree stamped images...

This fifth vintage trial....

My sea themed bookmark......the fish images are stamped and colored with Tombow Markers and then cut and stuck on dimensional

 Closer view...
This follows the same method as the above house bookmark except that I have replaced the sun with a rainbow with hearts stamped image!! Am entering this bookmark for the Incy Wincy Designs- Make a Bookmark Challenge

I have added glossy accents on the two hearts...

Closer look....

Hope you like them and leave your feedback for me to improve....
